Hello and Welcome!
This portfolio serves a dual purpose as both a space to reflect on my MET journey and how the experience has shaped my perspectives on the use of technology in workplace learning, as well as a tool that showcases my knowledge and skills. Specifically, this portfolio is designed to showcase a comprehensive understanding of workplace learning and educational technologies.
My design choices for this portfolio have been built with this purpose in mind, demonstrating my knowledge of learning principles, instructional design skills, and work samples through a portfolio that is clean and easy to navigate.
I have been in the field of workplace learning and development for over twelve years, and am working practicing in a consultative capacity to support organizations implement and improve their employee training using technologies that create engaging content, enhance learning experiences enable professional growth.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
As you navigate through this ePortfolio, you will be introduced to some of my clients, client projects and read the corresponding after action reviews. These have been developed as a metaphor for the work that has been completed as part of the MET program. Each client represents one of the courses that I completed as part of the program and corresponding project work.

Within each, you will find more about the various 'projects' (artifacts)' I took on for each 'client' (course), with an option to read more.

The after action reviews serve as an area for reflection, with a post for each course completed. Here you will learn more about how courses and artifacts align with my goals. This is also where I've chosen to highlight key takeaways and reference materials that shaped my learning philosophy.
ABOUT
Who is the person behind HMLTN Learning Solutions? I'm Sydney, a technical instructional designer and experienced training and education program manager. I have demonstrated history of working with adult learners and developing comprehensive training programs for face-to-face, blended and online delivery, and have expertise in areas of microlearning, contextual learning and knowledge management. I also have a profound interest in the use of mixed realities and artificial intelligences to support learning in the workplace, particularly in developing soft skills.
My degree in Business is supported by professional development certificates in both E-Learning & Digital Media Arts and this portfolio is a culmination of my Master’s Degree in Education Technology from The University of British Columbia. To learn more, connect with me on LinkedIn.
