About the Project

Creating a complete elearning lesson requires a number of components, and for this project we were tasked with designing an short elearning experience on a topic of choice. The objective was to enable project teams an opportunity for creative application of concepts and knowledge gained in a practical format. We followed instructional design practices to write learning objectives, identify evaluation metrics, create learning resources and activities, and assess outcomes, to develop a complete educational unit. About the Project

This project required that we design a professional development workshop for delivery in the workplace on the topic of knowledge, constructivism and learning in the workplace. The workshop included clear learning objectives and purpose to improve learning and collaboration in the workplace. Authentic, goal-directed activities, access to guidance, everyday problem solving and intrinsic reinforcement were all identified as ways in which constructivist learning happens naturally in the workplace. Lesson Plan Design

About the Project

Working with this client, we examined the role that learning theory plays in the design of a lesson plan. This project required that we take an existing lesson plan that we used, and critically analyze it for it's consideration for adult learning principles. This critique evaluated the training lesson through an information processing and constructivist lens. Where prior sessions were content-heavy and teacher-centric, the revised lesson plans emphasize hands-on, learner-centered activity. Read More

Bloom's Taxonomy & Information Processing

About the Project

This presentation explores an area of cognitve research known as information processing, and how understanding the learning components of how the mind works allows us to leverage frameworks such as Bloom's Taxonomy to enhance training designs. The project team studied these at length and prepared a unit of learning on this topic. This required a thorough needs assessment, designing a curriculum and learning experiences and facilitating learning. Read More

Rapid eLearning Course

About the Project

A key element of success for rapid eLearning development is to creating media rich, interactive content using authoring tools. These projects were designed to leverage existing materials from an instructor-led training course to create an engaging online learning module. This was supplemented by a needs analysis, clearly defined learning objectives, applied instructional strategies as well as a detailed storyboard.
