After Action Reviews
Once project work with a client is complete, HMLTN Learning Solutions conducts an After Action Review to reflect on the knoweldge gained through project work. Here we highlight highs and lows of each project, key takeaways, reference meaningful literature and learning materials and discuss how these learnings shape our education philosophy.
What is an After Action Review?
Organizational learning and development projects require ongoing review to ensure effective training delivery. Knowledge gained for each project serves as a building block for the next project. The reflective portion of these reviews is aimed to evaluate and improve the quality of our work. Using this guide for an after action review, each review will reflect on the follows:
-
What were the expectations of the project?
-
What were the realities?
-
What went well and how did this support your goals?
-
What could be improved, and how?
Each review is then supplemented by a reading list that influenced my learning for the respective course. You can also find more readings in the references section below.
